With TOSSIT, dart becomes a lot cooler, more colourful, and more modern than we Toy Academy toy enthusiasts remember from our own childhoods.
The darts are made of 100% silicone. They stick to smooth surfaces and come off again with a very satisfying pop. And just like that, "pop dart" was invented.
The darts are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
This is an extra large set of TOSSITs for 2-4 players.
There are several ways to play:
You can start by throwing the black TOSSIT. Then take turns throwing the other TOSSITs and compete to place your darts closest to the black one - kind of like a dart-version of petanque.
For a fun twist, you can decide that two TOSSITs touching each other earns extra points. Or that landing your TOSSIT on top of another one gets you an extra point. Or maybe you lose a point if your opponent lands their TOSSIT on top of yours.
You can also switch things up so the person who managed to place the most TOSSITs gets to throw the black dart at the end of the game.
Or play Battle on a window or other surface: everyone throws all their TOSSITs at the same time. The first to finish yells out "Stop", and then you count up the points - one point for each TOSSIT that sticks to the window, and bonus points if they touch or stack on top of each other.
It might take some practice to get the darts to stick, especially on windows and other vertical surfaces. Fortunately, practice makes better, just like with any other new game or sport.
The activity is wonderful for your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:
- This activity develops your child's depth perception.
- Supports hand-eye coordination, which you use e.g. when catching, throwing, or kicking the ball that comes flying at you in the playground, or when cutting an accurate line with scissors.
- Invites lots of silliness and giggles.
Suitable for children aged 3 yrs. to Seniors
With clear and defined rules, dice games, card games, and board games are clearly defined activities and present a welcome break from negotiation with others. For many children, it can be a relief to focus on a game with clear rules as a break from wild and free play with their friends at kindergarten or school.
At the same time, playing games gives your child an opportunity to learn to cope with losing. We recommend that you don't always let your child win when you play a game. Teach your children to handle defeat in a safe environment with you. This builds resilience in your child, which will benefit them later in life when they set out on their own and you can no longer shield them from disappointment and defeat.
