With TOSSIT, dart becomes a lot cooler, more colourful, and more modern than we Toy Academy toy enthusiasts remember from our own childhoods.
The darts are made of 100% silicone. They stick to smooth surfaces and come off again with a very satisfying pop. The darts are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
Suitable for 2 players. There are several fun ways to play.
You can start by throwing the black TOSSIT. Then take turns throwing the other TOSSITs and compete to place your darts closest to the black one - kind of like a dart-version of petanque.
For a fun twist, you can decide that two TOSSITs touching each other earns extra points. Or that landing your TOSSIT on top of another one gets you an extra point. Or maybe you lose a point if your opponent lands their TOSSIT on top of yours.
You can also switch things up so the person who managed to place the most TOSSITs gets to throw the black dart at the end of the game.
Or play Battle on a window or other surface: have everyone throw all their TOSSITs at the same time, and see how many stick. The first to finish yells out "Stop", and then you count up the points - one point for each TOSSIT that sticks to the window, and bonus points if they touch or stack on top of each other.
If you're still beginner players, the winner can also be the one who gets a TOSSIT to stick first. It might take a few tries to get the hang of the right technique. It's much easier to throw the darts onto the floor and watch them stick with a delightful plop.
Here, important skills are developed, which are wonderful for your child's well-being and ability to learn:
- This type of play helps your child improve their depth perception skills. For example, this will help your child move about in traffic more safely. "How fast is the car coming towards me?" suddenly becomes easier to assess.
- Strengthens hand-eye coordination, which is engaged for example when we catch, throw, or kick a ball that comes flying at us in the playground, or when we cut a straight line with a pair of scissors or need to pour water into a glass without missing.
- Sparks lots of wonderful giggles and makes you laugh until your tummy hurts.
Suitable for children aged 3 yrs. to Seniors
Many children love games with clear and defined rules. Such games can be a nice change from wild, free play with friends - games have rules, and for many children that can be a relief.
At the same time, playing games gives your child an opportunity to experience (and cope with) losing. We suggest that you don't always let your child win when you play a game. Teach your children to cope with losing in a safe setting with you. This helps make children robust and resilient, which will benefit them later in life when they set out on their own and you cannot shield them from defeat and disappointment.
