A balance bike doesn’t have pedals, so your child pushes the bike forward with their legs while straddling it. Balance bikes are fantastic for strengthening your child's crossbody coordination and balance from an early age.
A balance bike is a great way to challenge your child without them crashing or falling over often - because your child constantly has a foot on the ground and can easily keep their balance and stop the bike. Being able to control their speed much more easily than on a normal bike gives your child a feeling of freedom. At the same time, you can also teach your child about traffic signals, left/right, and being considerate of other road users.
An ideal way to prepare for learning to ride a pedal bike. Once your child is confident on the balance bike, using training wheels while they learn to ride their pedal bike often becomes a redundant middle step - because balance is not a problem for your child.
