Maileg was created in 1999 by Dorthe og Erik Mailil, who set out to make durable toys with personality and soul as a counterbalance plastic toys and fast trends. The name Maileg is made up of the founders' surname and the Danish word for play. Based in Herning, Denmark, Maileg creates Christmas elves, dollhouses, and toys that radiate ""hygge"" and Scandinavian design.Maileg's mice, elves, animal figures, and accessories are made with slow, calm play in mind. It's all about building worlds and telling stories with toys whose appearance and quality will last for years.
