Suitable for children aged 1 yr. to 11 yrs.Pictograms help your child figure out what will be happening next. The ability to structure, plan, and organise doesn't develop until our late childhood or teenage years. So, a ton of stuff happens during a day that your child doesn't actually know is going to happen in advance.
Children think in events rather than hours, minutes, and seconds. It’s not easy for children to form a thought sequence like “first I have to get dressed, then brush my teeth, then leave the house”.
Children with executive function challenges, for instance children who experience sensory overload or are on the autism spectrum, can use pictograms to predict and plan their day. But most children find that their day becomes more predictable when explained visually. That's precisely why pictograms are helpful.
