What makes this product special

The activity helps your child develop skills and is wonderful for your child's well-being:

  • Now, the ability to remember is in focus.
  • Encourages your child to become self-reliant. Many children WANT to be independent, and that motivation for self-reliance is stimulated through the confidence and skills learned in this type of play.

Suitable for children aged 3 yrs. to 11 yrs.

Pictograms help your child figure out what's about to happen. The ability to organise, structure, and plan is not developed until our late childhood or teenage years. So, a lot of stuff happens during a day that your child actually doesn’t know is going to happen.

Children can’t think in minutes and hours. Rather, they think in events. It’s not easy for children to form a thought sequence like “first get dressed, then breakfast, then it's time to leave the house, and this afternoon I get to watch 20 minutes of TV”. And that’s why getting everyone ready and out the door can sometimes be a stressful mess of meltdowns and despair.

Many children find that visual explanations make their day more predictable. That's precisely why pictograms are helpful. And children with executive function challenges, for instance children who experience sensory overload or are on the autism spectrum, can use pictograms to predict and plan their day.

Do you know Ciha?

Rikke and Jens are the parents of two hearing-impaired girls, and they are the creators of CIHA. With CIHA, they have created a universe of language and play with a focus on helping you support your child’s language development through play and dialogue. And that's why they fit right in at Toy Academy; of course we include CIHA in our selection of toys that help children learn through play.
