The Green Bean range from the Danish toy company Dantoy is made from recycled, Nordic Swan Ecolabelled plastic from the company's own toy production. As the toys are made from remelted plastic pieces, they may come in many different colours.

Dantoy strive for sustainability in their production processes. Their entire production is carefully monitored and approved, and their finished toys are both unique and durable.

Dantoy’s plastic toys are not designed to be biodegradable, as that would reduce their durability - and that wouldn't be sustainable. When resources have been used to shape and package a toy, it's more sustainable to ensure the product has a long lifespan.

Biodegradability makes more sense for things like food packaging, which has a shorter production process than toys and does not involve as much packaging. That means this toy is not made to be thrown away after use. It's made to be played with for many years, passed on to other kids when your child outgrows it, and eventually recycled as hard plastic so resources aren't wasted.

Have conversations about what happens to food inside the body, where our food comes from, and when we usually eat it. This strengthens your child’s knowledge and vocabulary.

Role play where children imitate everyday activities builds up their understanding of the world around them. With play food, your child can also play with food in a way that is most likely not acceptable with real food. You can also use the play food to play grocery store and practise greeting customers, writing signs, and calculating special offers. Your child can take payment at the cash register and give back change, which is great for practising their math skills.
