Royals have horses, mischievous bandits have horses, and horses are found both in the city and in the countryside. They’re also fun friends who never say no to a carrot or an apple. So of course, your child’s hand puppet collection needs a horse. 

No matter how many carrots they eat, horses can’t burp — which is another advantage of casting a horse in the puppet theatre. After all, burping on stage is generally frowned upon.

What's more, they're a really good way to bring a fairy tale or story to life. The storyteller does not get hidden behind a book but gets to be active and in close contact with the listening children, who become participants instead of passive listeners.
