My Very First Games - First Orchard

This game can be played solo or together.  

The goal is to collect all the fruit in the basket before the cheeky raven swoops in and steals it. When you play together, teamwork is the key to winning.

There’s no text in the game, so no reading skills are needed. The rules are in English to help you get started.

Roll the die to see if you get to pick a piece of fruit and place it in the basket — or if the raven moves one step closer to the trees. 

1–4 players. Game time: around 10 minutes

Here, important skills are stimulated, which are great for your child's well-being and ability to learn:

• Develops visual perception.
• Stimulates your child's ability to cooperate - which is a crucial skill in all social scenarios.
• Motivates your child to practise social skills, like being able to lose, listen, trade toys, or wait their turn, being patient and tolerant, and trying to read the situation.

Suitable for children aged 2 yrs. to 5 yrs.

Many children love games and activities with clear rules and limits. Such games can be a nice change from wild, free play with friends - a game has rules, and that can be a relief.

In addition, playing games gives your child an opportunity to learn to cope with losing a game. We suggest not letting your child win the game every single time. Learning how to handle disappointment in a safe setting with you helps make children robust and resilient. After all, you won't be there to protect your child from disappointment and defeat later in life when they have to handle things on their own.
