Toy food is great for role play, which inspires your child to act out real-life scenarios such as cooking, shopping, or going to a café. Talk about where food comes from, when we typically eat it, and where it goes after we swallow it. This strengthens your child’s knowledge and vocabulary.

Through role playing, your child can gain experience with rules, boundaries, and opportunities for social interaction and identity formation. When children play together with play food, they learn how to take turns, communicate and work together to reach compromises. Also, you can expand your child's play opportunities by playing grocery store, maybe with homemade signs with prices. That way, you can learn about both letters and numbers, and your child can strengthen their math skills and their manners through role play.

Sitting in a sandbox, or being at the beach, is the ultimate playground for many children. The sand can be sculpted into delicious cakes, beautifully decorated sand castles, or tracks so small cars and trucks can work or drive around in Sand City.
