Cars are just some of the most wonderful toys around with turning wheels and important jobs to do. And for many children, cars and vehicles are simply the very best toys to carry around, talk about, and ride on.
Cars carry patients to the hospital, transport everything from hay bales to footballs and doll shoes, take tourists to Düsseldorf, and drive astronauts around on the Moon.
Playing with cars and vehicles can involve fast-paced races, life-saving rescue missions, or relaxing repetitive play where the cars are filled up with fuel again and again, or take the scenic route through all the rooms of the house. Or it can involve scientific learning or be a lovely part of your child's role play, alone or with friends.
When children try stacking blocks or other objects on top of each other, which they start doing at a very young age, they also learn about gravity, balance, proportions, and physics. At first, the best part is toppling the stack of blocks. But slowly and surely, your child's motor skills improve, and they start to build block towers or experiment with stacking figures or other things. If the blocks have numbers on them, your child can practise numbers and sequences while playing.
