Suitable for ages 2 yrs. to 7 yrs.
Have conversations about what happens to food inside the body, where our food comes from, and when we usually eat it. This is great for your child’s vocabulary and knowledge. Play food is ideal for pretend play, which inspires your child to copy real-life experiences such as shopping, cooking, or being in a café.
Through role playing, your child can gain experience with boundaries, rules, and opportunities for identity formation and social interaction. When the children play together with play food, they learn how to cooperate, take turns, communicate, and compromise. You can also use the play food to play grocery store and practise making special offers, writing signs, and politely greeting customers. Your child can take payment at the cash register and give back change, which is a great way of practisting their math skills.
