For instance, when you need to sit still and pay attention to a fairy tale, it’s great to squeeze and knead various types of playdough, clay, or sensory slime while listening. It magically sharpens your child’s concentration, even though it is really a type of distraction.

For the littlest ones, playdough is mostly about the sensory experience. And older children can use playdough to bring their funniest ideas to life. With playdough, your child can make anything from pink elephants with spots to knights and princesses.

We carry playdough of several different colours and types and different firmness levels. Firmer playdough stimulates your child’s proprioception because it offers more resistance when played with. For instance, firm playdough is perfect for making stop motion movies, because it holds its shape better.

This activity is quiet and can help your child be still for just 5 more minutes - or help them endure long train or car rides without fidgeting and moving around in their seat. In particular, for children with a lot of motor restlessness, fiddling with something that stimulates proprioception, hands, fine motor skills, and imagination while sitting still can help them calm down.

Oil-based playdough tends to stay soft for years. You can soften water-based playdough by kneading in a bit of water.
