Suitable for ages 4 yrs. to 6 yrs.When your child plays with a ball using their feet, hands, head, or a racket/bat, their depth perception is enhanced. Besides, ball games may have rules, and it's good for your child to learn how to follow and negotiate them. So, when your child firmly maintains that there's absolutely NO penalty, or that the ball was NOT out of bounds, you can definitely celebrate - that's a learning moment. Playing ball also revs up your child's proprioception - and that's a sense which cannot be overstimulated.
This activity benefits essential skills which support your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:
- Helps your child get their body moving, which in turn engages their gross motor skills.
- Supports hand-eye coordination, a skill we use for example when cutting a straight line with scissors, pouring a glass of water without spilling and making a mess, or when throwing, catching, or kicking a ball that comes flying at us in the playground.
