Animal figures are pretty much a classic of the toy chest. Watch your child use them for all kinds of imaginative role play. Maybe the animals live on a farm, at the zoo, or in the wild – or maybe they're off to the playground. Roleplay stimulates the ability to come up with funny stories and put words to them.

The animals are also great if your child is practising math and needs to find out how many animals you each get if you are three people and divide them between you. Or maybe the animals enjoy being stacked, sorted, counted, or arranged according to their initials or the number of letters or syllables in their names.
