Maybe the animals live in the wild or in a national park – or maybe they take off to the supermarket. The play with imagining what the animals experience benefits the ability to come up with funny stories and put words to them.

The animals are also ideal if your child is learning math and needs to work out how many animals you'll each have if you share them between you. Maybe the animals also want to be counted, sorted, stacked, or arranged according to their initials or the number of syllables or letters in their names.
