The vestibular sense
Depth perception
Gross motor skills

The 2-in-1 Highwaykick 1 Lifestyle grows with your child from around age 1 and all the way through the preschool years. It works both as a scooter and a balance bike.

Seat height, handlebar height, weight, and wheel size are the same as on our other Highwaykick 1 models.

Your child steers the scooter by shifting their body weight from side to side rather than by turning the handlebars (which actually don't turn). This helps them practise balance in a natural way, by learning to control their centre of gravity as they lean left and right.

The Lifestyle model stands out with a handy storage compartment at the front—perfect for bringing along a favourite teddy bear or picking up little treasures along the way.

  • Fits children from 82-118 cm tall
  • Max. weight: 50 kg on the scooter, 20 kg on the seat
  • Adjustable seat height: 22.5–29 cm
  • Adjustable handlebars: 57–64 cm
  • Rubber pad prevents forward tipping
  • Front wheels: 2 x 120 mm PU
  • Rear wheel: 80 mm PU
  • Weight: 2.8 kg
  • No tools needed to switch between balance bike and scooter

Suitable for children aged 1 yr. to 5 yrs.

A balance bike has no pedals, so your child pushes the bike along with their legs while straddling it. Balance bikes are fantastic for stimulating your child's crossbody coordination and balance from an early age.

A balance bike is a great way to challenge your child without having to worry about them having too many accidents - because your child always has a foot on the ground and can keep their balance and stop the bike. Being able to control their speed much more easily than on a normal bike gives your child a feeling of being free. At the same time, you can also teach your child about left/right, understanding traffic signals, and looking out for other road users.

A great way to prepare for learning to ride a bike with pedals. Quite often, your child can skip using training wheels on their pedal bike, because they've already had lots of balance training.

Scooters are a perfect way for children to improve their balance and gross motor skills while at the same time getting plenty of speed, exercise, and fresh air. What's even better, scooters are easy to bring with you anywhere you go - and some of our scooters can easily be folded up.

The smallest ones can start with three-wheel scooters, while the older kids (and kids with balance bike experience) can race around on two wheels.

The activity helps your child develop new skills and is wonderful for your child's well-being:

  • This type of play helps your child improve their depth perception skills. For example, this will help your child cycle or walk in traffic in a safe manner. "How fast is that car coming towards me?" suddenly becomes a bit easier to assess.
  • Helps develop gross motor skills, which come into play whenever your child moves their body.
  • Stimulates the vestibular sense, which improves vision, balance, and body awareness.
