Playing with monsters expands your child’s idea of what a friend can look like. Moreover, monster play is popular with children of all genders, which opens up a world of shared play across other interests such as trucks, princesses, or swords. And monsters let your child's imagination run wild - because when your child creates, sculpts, or invents a monster, they get to decide whether it has seven ears, an eye on each knee, antennas, or arms everywhere. Normative success criteria dissolve, and your child will feel proud to introduce you to their new monster friend, who, fortunately, is far from normal.

We carry playdough of several different types and colours and with different firmness levels. Firm playdough stimulates your child’s proprioception by providing a bit more resistance. For example, firm playdough is excellent for making stop motion movies, because it holds its shape well.

It’s a calm activity that can help your child stay still for just 5 more minutes - or help them cope with long train or car rides without wiggling around in their seat. In particular, for children who experience motor restlessness, playing with something that activates their hands, proprioception, imagination, and fine motor skills while sitting still can bring a sense of calm.

Oil-based playdough tends to stay soft for several years. You can soften water-based playdough by adding in a bit of water.
